The mission of Ocean State Angels (OSA) is to become the premier angel investment group focused solely on life science companies in the Rhode Island area. Ocean State Angels seeks to bring together executives, scientists, physicians, engineers and entrepreneurs from the life science products and services sectors who have a passion and vested interest in fostering the growth of the life science industry and the overall economy in Rhode Island. Ocean State Angels intends to provide seed and early stage funding and mentoring for life science companies with the goal of helping them to advance towards later-round venture-backed funding and ultimately a successful business and/or exit. The Fund will look for companies that are extremely capital efficient opportunities where its funds will lead to significant step-ups in valuation to avoid unfavorable future funding rounds.
