Parag I. Shah oversees the firms Life Science Practice and brings more than 15 years of investment, debt financing, and scientific experience. Prior to joining Hercules in 2004, Shah co-founded BioGenesys Capital, which was focused on venture debt financing for biotechnology and medical device companies. Before joining BioGenesys Capital, Shah was as a senior vice president and group head of Imperial Bank’s Life Sciences practice, which was acquired by Comerica Bank. Shah also served as an assistant vice president at BancBoston (acquired by Fleet) in Buenos Aires and Boston, where he focused on mergers & acquisition finance for four years. Shah received an M.S. in Technology, Management and Policy and B.S. in Molecular Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During his tenure at MIT, Shah conducted research at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and he currently serves on the Whitehead Institute’s Board of Associates.
