Mr. Olson is Global Head of Strategy and Planning and Secretary of BlackRock's GEC, and a member of the Global Operating, Corporate Operations and Human Capital Committees. In his role as Global Head of Strategy and Planning, Mr. Olson leads the Global Strategy, Corporate Development, Business Finance and Investor Relations functions for BlackRock. Together, these closely aligned functions provide BlackRock's board and senior management with key information needed to operate the day-to-day business and to position the Firm for long term growth and shareholder value creation. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2005, Mr. Olson was a Managing Director in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for merger and acquisition related advisory assignments for both public and private companies.
