Pavan’s path to Hoja was shaped by his upbringing in modest circumstances as the child of parents who immigrated to Canada. His mother, originally a teacher in India, nurtured his love for learning from an early age. Pavan grew up in Kitchener and attended some of the toughest schools in the country, surrounded by students from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. With 20 years of experience working in technology (Amazon, Peakon by Workday, Capdesk by Carta, Bla Bla Car) and business (Unilever). Pavan started to consult, work with and invest in purpose led startups (Zen Educate, Net Purpose, Education, Bendi, Reath, Bonux X), where he worked with founders and helped to foster the tech ecosytem in Europe. Education has always been important to Pavan and he studied his undergraduate degree in Waterloo, the tech capital of Canada at Laurier University and then went on to do complete an MBA from INSEAD.
