Peter Zaitsev is CEO and co-founder of Percona. A serial entrepreneur, Peter enjoys mixing business leadership with hands-on technical expertise. Previously he was an early employee at MySQL AB, one of the largest open source companies in the world, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2008. Prior to joining MySQL AB, Peter was CTO at SpyLOG, which provided statistical information on website traffic. Peter is the co-author of the popular book, High Performance MySQL, and blogs regularly on Percona Performance Blog. He has a Master’s in Computer Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University and is one of the award winning leaders of the world MySQL community.
