Pierre took part, in 1986, in launching the venture and growth capital arm of the French Caisse des Dépôts, where he was in charge of investments in cinema and television businesses, and then more widely in the media sector. Notably, Pierre managed the majority shareholdings in Lumière, a film library and movie production company, and in Coficiné, a bank specializing in TV and cinema bridge financing. He chaired Com-Dev Images, a holding company dedicated to investments in some French thematic channels pioneers (Canal J, MCM, Planète, CinéCinéma…) and was in charge of many other investments, among which Alphanim, Canal + Belgique, Cinar (Canada), Computec (Germany), Coscient (Canada), Deficom (Belgium), Editions F1rst, Lagardère Images and RFM.
