I’m currently the Head of Search, Ranking and Personalization at Faire, a wholesale marketplace! I founded the ranking team and currently manage an experienced group of machine learning scientists with PhDs in CS and related fields and many years of industrial experience, as well as senior machine learning engineers. I’m also a faculty member at the University of California Berkeley, lecturing applied AI and machine learning in a Master of Information and Data Science. Previously I was the lead machine learning scientist at Airbnb, and a scientist for many years in companies such as Yahoo Research and Pandora Media. I have more than 10 years’ experience in applied machine learning in the following topics: search ranking, relevance models, ad optimization, user engagement, recommendation systems, pricing and demand model, and supply acquisition.
