I'm an investor in and advisor to wealth management firms. I'm interested in how people interact with money, who they choose to rely on, and the kinds of advice they value. Financial services - with all its choices, conflicts, and complexity - is endlessly fascinating to me. After starting my career in investment banking and private equity I went to work for Charles Schwab, where I learned what "Registered Investment Advisors" are and what a custodian does for them. From there I joined Focus Financial Partners in its very early days. I built out the breakaway business for Focus, identifying and leading investments in teams bringing their clients out of large wirehouses (i.e., big Wall Street banks such as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, etc.) to start their own firm.
