Robert Ashe, is the former President and CEO of Cognos Inc., having joined the Company in 1984. He was appointed President in 2002, and CEO in 2004, and held both roles until IBM acquired the company in 2007 for $4.9 billion, IBM’s largest software acquisition to date. From 2010 until 2012, he served as IBM’s General Manager of Business Analytics. Prior to becoming President and CEO of Cognos, Robert held several senior executive roles at the company including Senior Vice President of Application Development Tools, Senior Vice President of Products, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Customer Services, Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Robert is a director of ServiceSource International, Inc, MSCI Inc., Shopify, and Halogen Software Inc.
