Shyam has over 10 years of experience in the infrastructure sector. He began his career as an investment banker with ICICI Securities (ICICI’s investment banking JV with J P Morgan) handling private equity placement, debt syndication and M&A related deals in the energy and telecom sectors. Subsequently, he moved to the Infrastructure group of ICICI and after that to IDFC, to undertake project finance activities in the telecom sector. At IDFC, he was part of the core team that developed IDFC's investment risk evaluation and management framework. He joined IDFC Private Equity in its formative days. Shyam received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, and a BE (Mechanical) from Anna University.Shyam is married and has a daughter. He is an avid cricket fan and opens the bowling for IDFC’s cricket team at local tournaments.
