Saimaa Start Up

About

Saimaa Start Up is an active process to transform ideas into businesses via promoting and coaching entrepreneurship and start-up activities to mainly young people who are studying or have finished their studies and who have natural ties to the region - in other words, to those who potentially could establish a business in the Savonlinna region. Saimaa Start Up shall be visible, disruptive, self driven and will give tools even for creating international growth businesses. The elements of the process are competition, drive & spirit, boot camps, international mentors, visibility and investors - and disruptive teams to realize their dreams. The target is to establish the process in tight schedule together with local students and student organizations already during summer/autumn 2015 and have the first main event at the end of July 2016 during Puruvesi Pop / Saimaa Summit. As a primary result they expect to see minimum ten new start-ups during the project and double the amount of annually
