Sam founded EdgeStone in February 1999. From 1994 to 1999, he served as Managing Director and member of the Deals Review Committee at CIBC Capital Partners, the merchant banking division of CIBC. At CIBC Capital Partners, he successfully invested in a wide variety of industries including, among others, media, retail, restaurants and agriculture. From 1991 to 1994, he co-founded and developed the Loyalty Group Inc. (Air Miles Reward Program), Canada's most successful loyalty database marketing program, and served as COO. From 1990 to 1991, he served as COO of Holzman Jewellers, a U.S. based privately owned jewelry chain. From 1984 to 1990, he worked at Bain & Company. Sam serves on the Board of Directors of EZShield, New Food Classics, Porter Aviation Holdings, Stephenson’s Rental Services, and Bryker Technology Partners LP.
