Sandbox Startups was launched by Deshpande Foundation in 2008 with the aim to penetrate into 70% of India's untapped market. With a growing population of over 1.3 billion in India, currently 1.1 billion reside in tier 2 & tier 3 communities, where the needs of these individuals are underserved. Therefore, Sandbox Startup is the largest incubation center located outside of major metros that allows entrepreneurs to realize their full potential while also equipping them with the necessary tools to accelerate need-based solutions for the semi-urban and rural populations.
