Sean Doherty

Sean Doherty joined Bain Capital in 2005 and is the General Counsel of the firm. Earlier in his career, Sean Doherty worked at Ropes & Gray LLP and was a law clerk to a federal district judge in Boston. Prior to law school, he was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, in which he served on a Middle East Force frigate from 1990-94. Currently, Sean Doherty is also a member of the International Board of Directors of JDRF, the global leader in funding type 1 diabetes research, and Chairman of the JDRF T1D Fund, its venture philanthropy vehicle. He is a trustee of Thayer Academy.
