Sergey Shalunov is a serial entrepreneur. Growing up in a scientist family benefited him in more ways than merely sparking his passion for nanotechnology. By the time he graduated from university, he had developed a flavour for experimenting and an entrepreneurial spirit to match. At age 22, Sergey joined his father’s research & development company. Honing his business acumen while leading a sales function, he quickly progressed to the General Manager and Product Owner roles in just a few years. Eventually, he took over a few high-tech projects. For example, his composite materials that were three to four times more wear-resistant than standard alloys, and the affordable coolant performed as effectively as the expensive coolant of a well-known European brand.
