About
Steve has a first degree in mechanical engineering which he subsequently built on with studies into operations research and control theory at Churchill College, Cambridge. On leaving academia Steve gained significant experience within global business. During his 35-year career with Rolls-Royce he has designed real-time safety-critical control systems, led business units in Europe and the US, sat as group director of Corporate Planning and led their Digital Business which is responsible 24/365 for Rolls-Royce’s mission-critical real-time digital engine monitoring services. Steve currently holds a variety of global non-executive and advisory positions within the science community, including other spin outs from Cambridge University. He also acts as mentor to micro-business start-ups for the young persons’ charity, The Prince’s Trust.
