About
Stylianos is a Lecturer in Structural Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology. His research interests include nonlinear stability analysis of highly optimized structures as well as the exploration of Biomimetics in Civil Engineering Design for sustainable development. As a student at Imperial he had leading roles in the Cypriot Society and was a member of the 2006 El Salvador Project, a student-led project to raise funds and build earthquake resistant houses in rural communities in El Salvador. Stylianos is very keen to develop and empower his students by promoting project-based and peer-to-peer learning as well as supporting student-led extracurricular activities. He sees himself as more of a mentor than a typical lecturer; he supports his students and motivates them to always do their best and manages to pass on his vigour and enthusiasm. This is what Stylianos brings to Chrysalis LEAP; his down-to-earth attitude and his myriad of skills and knowledge.
