Tamas Szalai is a Founding Partner of VGF Emerging Markets Growth I, L.P. and a member of its Investment Committee. Tamas has been a principal private equity investor in the region since 2000. Prior to joining VGF EM, Tamas was a Partner at Bancroft Private Equity, a principal investment firm that has raised and invested 3 successive funds in the Central and Southeastern Europe region, including Turkey. Tamas executed 9 of the 16 investments made by Bancroft during his tenure. Tamas has invested successfully in companies in Turkey, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic and Estonia, with operations distributed more broadly though-out the region.
