Thomas Middelhoff was elected to the Board of Directors of The New York Times Company in 2003. Dr. Middelhoff has served as co-chief executive officer and co-chairman of BT Capital, a global media and alternative investment group with a focus in China, since 2013. Dr. Middelhoff has also served as founding partner and chairman of Pulse Capital Partners, an asset management firm, since 2013. Previously, Dr. Middelhoff served as a founding partner and executive chairman of Berger Lahnstein Middelhoff & Partners LLP, an asset management firm, from 2009 to 2010. Prior to that, Dr. Middelhoff served as chief executive officer of Arcandor AG, a German retailer, from 2005 through 2009.
