Timothy J. Buckley, also known as Tim, serves as an Operating Advisor at Stripes Group. Buckley focuses on evaluating and supporting technology companies. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer at Xtium, Inc. since September 2012. He served as an Advisor to MySQL AB. He served as the Chief Operating Officer for Red Hat, Inc. since April 1999 and served as its Executive Vice President since February 2001. Buckley used his insight to accelerate the momentum of open source and expand Red Hat's worldwide business, service, and support operations. He played an integral role in the evolution of Red Hat’s business and success selling LINUX through software as a Service (SAAS) business model. Prior to Red Hat, Buckley served as a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Visio Corporation since October 1997. During his 20-plus years working with emerging technology companies, he has helped launch many other successful start-ups, including Aldus, Approach and Decision Resources.
