Tom Tiernan joined Francisco Partners as an Operating Partner in 2013 with a primary focus on the hardware and systems sectors. Prior to joining Francisco Partners, Tom was a Senior Advisor at Vector Capital, and CEO of portfolio companies Gerber Scientific and 20-20 Technologies. Previously, he was President, CEO and Director of Synaptics, where he led the company's aggressive growth and diversification. Earlier in his career, Tom was General Manager of Symbol Technologies' Mobile Computing Division. He began his career at Hewlett Packard, where he held various general management positions around the world, including leading the Network Storage Business in the Americas, the Enterprise Systems Business in Asia Pacific, and the Personal Computer Business in Japan. Tom serves on the board of directors of Corsair and Grass Valley.
