Founded in 1997, Trillium Group is a Rochester, N.Y.-based private equity firm managing early stage venture capital and growth equity funds. Trillium's primary focus is on growth equity investment opportunities located in Western N.Y. Their current portfolio consists of more than 20 companies in a broad range of industry sectors and businesses. Because of their emphasis on personal involvement, their relationships with portfolio companies remains intense, lasting three to six years, depending on the needs of the business. When business goals are met, or are clearly on track to meet expectations, they pursue previously developed plans to exit as investors.
