About
Valerie Hoag is the Senior Vice President for Business Development for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In this position she oversees the Michigan Retention and Growth and Business Attraction Sales Teams, the Economic Gardening programs, Federal Procurement, the Michigan Defense Center, Development Finance, Capital Markets and Entrepreneurship. Valerie started her career in economic development in 1986 as a college trainee with the Michigan Department of Commerce. Over the years she has worked in many different programs and initiatives including grant and loans, business development and incentives development and negotiation. She has headed several areas within the Department of Commerce, the Michigan Jobs Commission and the MEDC. Ms. Hoag graduated from Michigan State University with a dual BS in Packaging and Food System Economics.
