Yael Aflalois the Principal at Daughters Capital. She was the Founder of Reformation, a California native and innovative entrepreneur who is leading the revolution of sustainable fashion through Reformation. Yael began her career as a designer before going on to launch her first clothing line, Ya-Ya, in 1999. During her time at Ya-Ya, Yael took notice to the wasteful norms of the fashion industry–overprinting look books just to toss 80 percent of them and wasting yards of leftover fabric, just to name a few. Yael also spent time working first-hand with factories overseas and took note of the destructive impact that production abroad has on the environment. It was then that Yael realized it was time to break the cycle and set out to create a brand where sustainable fashion didn’t mean compromising style.
