How to pitch Google
- Match the stage. Most Google investors on VCSift are tagged Early Stage (also Seed and Series A). A round outside that range is usually a pass before the deck is opened.
- Lead with the sector fit. The team's tagged focus is Marketing, Investment Management and It Management. Name the thesis overlap in the first two lines of the email.
- Pick the right person. Titles on the team include Software Engineer, Product Manager and Director of Product Management. Partners and principals source deals; associates screen them. Write to the person whose portfolio is closest to yours.
- Use a direct email. 194 of the 406 Google profiles include a verified address, which beats a website form or a cold LinkedIn message.
